Contract : Full time.
Localisation : Liège, Belgium.
The Hemato-Oncology Unit is specialized in the treatment of :
- Cancer diseases incl. solid tumors and leukemia,
- Benign hematological diseases,
- Sickle cell desease,
- Coagulation disorders,
- Immune deficiencies,
- HIV,
- Inflammatory, auto-immune and rheumatic diseases.
It’s a reference center for Wallonia and is member of the Belgian Society of Pediatric Hemato-Oncology. The Unit has its own ward including 30 beds with 2 positive pressure rooms and 18 one day clinic beds. A close collaboration exists with the JACIE accredited center for cellular therapy where stem cell transplantations are performed.
The treatment approach is overall multidisciplinary. Specialized out-patient clinic and 7/7 home care allow close patient monitoring and follow-up.
The Unit is actively involved in clinical trials coordinated by the Clinical Trial Center of the University Hospital and in basic research as well as in the educational program of medical students and pediatrician fellows.

The University Hospital of Liège is a tertiary centre providing the whole spectrum of medical specialities. It is the main teaching hospital in Wallonia and is affiliated to the University of Liège.
